Sun Country Airlines cuts parts costs 6.6% and automates 93.5% of purchases, SkySelect reports

Sun Country Airlines recognized the limitations of manual, time-consuming procurement procedures for aircraft parts. Its operations span scheduled flights, charter services and cargo operations for Amazon Air, so the procurement team has to navigate fluctuating demand and unexpected challenges.

Sun Country implemented SkySelect's Procurement AI platform, which automates critical sourcing tasks and frees the procurement team for strategic initiatives. The platform gives real-time visibility into the market availability of parts, so the airline can see supply options for every part request.

SkySelect reports that 100% of part numbers (PNs) had real-time market availability and that 93.5% of purchases were automated. Sun Country achieved a 6.6% reduction in parts costs and a 95.2% supplier response rate, which SkySelect says reflects stronger supplier relationships and efficient communication.
