What allnex was trying to fix
allnex, a manufacturer of coating resins with more than 4000 employees, runs 3 GBS facilities in the Americas, EMEA and APAC that process 180,000 orders annually. Customers use unique purchase order templates and formats, in multiple languages, currencies and date formats. Before the project, customer service teams relied on an unreliable OCR solution, so every order had to be touched, leading to repetitive tasks and errors.
What allnex deployed
In 2023 the Office of the CIO decided to modernize and automate allnex's global order-to-cash operations, and implementation of Rossum's intelligent document processing started in May 2023. The first go-live covered EMEA and the Americas in August 2023, and APAC, with orders in non-Latin languages, followed in January 2025. The solution ingests data from email attachments, transforms and validates it, and transfers it to allnex's SAP system. allnex is now onboarding more customers and fine-tuning Rossum's AI model Aurora for higher automation.
Results
By the end of 2025, Rossum says the global implementation achieved 70% automation and 98% data extraction accuracy; the page does not say whether the 70% is measured against all orders or only those going through Rossum. Along the way, automation reached 77% in the Americas in December 2023, with 55% of POs going through Rossum, and 80% in the Americas and EMEA in December 2024, with 72% of orders going through Rossum.
Key Takeaways
- Phase a global order-automation rollout by region: allnex went live in EMEA and the Americas first and added APAC, with orders in non-Latin languages, in January 2025.
- Pair data extraction with validation and direct transfer into the ERP so orders reach the system without manual keying.
- Keep expanding: allnex lists onboarding more customers and fine-tuning the AI model as its next steps for higher automation.
