Biyoute Trading reaches 89% regional weekly forecast accuracy and over 98% on-shelf availability with RELEX

Biyoute Trading, a supermarket chain in Northeast China, needed to move away from manual planning toward a more consistent, data-driven approach as consumer demand grows more variable and promotional cycles more complex. Its existing processes made it difficult to balance availability, inventory levels and labor demands during peak periods such as the Spring Festival.

Biyoute selected RELEX and Beijing Times Distribution Consulting (TDCC) to implement an integrated supply chain planning system. It includes machine learning-based demand forecasting, fresh product management and intraday multi-delivery scheduling, giving the company a unified view of demand and supply. The system went live at the end of December 2025, ahead of the Chinese New Year peak, across approximately 115 stores, seven distribution centers and 20,000 SKUs.

Since go-live, Biyoute has achieved weekly forecast accuracy of 89% at the regional level, with grocery forecasts exceeding 92%, and on-shelf availability across categories has stabilized at more than 98%. These gains have helped reduce stockouts and excess inventory while lowering warehousing and capital costs. Warehouse staff reduced daily working hours by approximately four during the pre-holiday peak, and increased use of automated order recommendations has reduced errors.
